There are many advantages to internet shopping:
huge range of products prices usually lower than the high street you can shop whenever is convenient for you, 24/7 (without the kids in tow!)
All shops accessed via SitesForMums are also reputable and reliable, with speedy delivery and good customer service.
The only downside is that each on-line shop is a little different and it can be quite confusing at first learning how each site works. The best advice we can give is simply GIVE IT A GO! After a while you'll find it second nature. Don't be afraid to experiment because a site can't take any money from you until you enter your credit/debit card details, and you can exit a site at any time by clicking on 'Home'.
To give you an idea of what to expect when you 'enter' an internet shop, you usually do the following:
Browse the shop (e.g. by entering a 'search' or by following links to different sections of the shop and clicking on products that look interesting). When you have found something you want to buy, click on 'Add to basket', 'Add to cart', 'Buy item', 'Order' or something similar. Continue to browse the shop to see if there is anything else you want to 'add to your basket'. Click on 'Go to Checkout' or something similar. Some sites then ask you to 'register' with their site. This usually involves entering your e-mail address (used as your 'user name') and a password (choose something you can remember easily). Then you will be prompted to enter information such as personal details (e.g. name, home address, phone & e-mail address) & payment details (usually credit/debit card number, name on card, expiry date & sometimes the 3 digit security number on the back). This should complete the order and you can expect to receive the goods by post soon after. Some shops send you e-mails to confirm the order and to tell you when the goods have been despatched; others don't do this but may instead allow you to check the 'order status' by going back to the website and entering your user name and password.
Happy shopping!
